Salman Khurshid said – not disillusioned with Congress but the existence of the party is in danger

Former Secretary of State Salman Khurshid’s statement about the protracted battle for the post of National President in Congress remains in the headlines. In his statement, Khurshid said again today: “He is not disillusioned with the Congress, but the current situation of the party needs to be reviewed”.

He said: “He is very sad to see the current state of the party and is also concerned about the party. But whatever happens, I will not cut ties with the party. I am not like those people who do everything from the party and left the party when the going got tough.”

Salman Khurshid, the congressional leader and former foreign minister, said on Tuesday that Rahul Gandhi’s move as party chairman has left everyone in shock after the defeat of the Lok Sabha elections. He said we could not analyze the defeat of Congress, which was the reason for our defeat. Our biggest problem is that our leaders have left.

Khurshid said this is a delicate situation. I wish this wouldn’t happen.

Let us inform you that after losing Smriti Irani in Amethi in Uttar Pradesh and winning just 52 out of 542 seats in the Lok Sabha elections, Rahul Gandhi was shocked and released from the post of Congress Speaker. All congressional leaders had asked Rahul to withdraw his resignation, but he would not convince.

The Congress saw no way out and chose Sonia Gandhi as interim party chairman. He took over as party chairman in 1999, after leading Congress to victories in 2004 and 2009.
