Islamabad: These days there is an earthquake in the politics of Pakistan. On the one hand, Imran Khan has brought the Shehbaz government on the back foot by starting the election campaign from Lahore, on the other hand, Toshakhana’s revelations have exposed the Pakistani leaders. Imran Khan, who calls himself honest, took almost all the 111 gifts received from abroad to his home. For this, Imran Khan either did not give money and if he did, he gave very little. Similarly, 14 top leaders of the country, including former President Asif Ali Zardari, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Pervez Musharraf, looted the gifts deposited in Toshakhana. After this revelation, Pakistani media is now praising Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi fiercely.

On the Toshakhana revelations, Pakistan’s famous journalist Rauf Klasra says, ‘There have been 10 Prime Ministers and 4 Presidents in Pakistan, but no one stands before the Indian Prime Minister in the case of Toshakhana.’ He said in his video blog that the leaders of Pakistan have been looting the gifts received from abroad since 1990. He said that be it Nawaz Sharif or Imran Khan, everyone picked up watches, necklaces, pens worth crores and took them to their homes. President Arif Alvi was gifted an AK-47 rifle. Musharraf had got a gun. They took it away.

‘No Pakistani can stand in front of Indira-Modi’

Klasra said, ‘The people of Pakistan keep criticizing PM Modi, but in the case of Toshakhana, no leader of Pakistan stands in front of them. Pakistani leaders should learn from PM Modi. PM Modi had auctioned gifts worth crores of rupees received from abroad for the education of girls. PM Modi deposited whatever gifts he received during his tenure as CM in Toshakhana and then auctioned it and spent it for the education of girls. He said that there was no corruption in either India or Pakistan till the 1970s.

The Pakistani journalist said, ‘Indira Gandhi, Morarji Desai, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Manmohan Singh, now Narendra Modi, no Pakistani Prime Minister or President can stand in front of all these leaders in India. No leader of Pakistan had left the gifts received from abroad. Be it Nawaz Sharif or Imran Khan, they took away from gold to diamonds and jewels. Klasra said that in the last 20 years there has not been any Pakistani leader who has not looted gifts. He said that the eyes of the Pakistani leaders went berserk on seeing the diamonds and jewels and they looted them. In this way Pakistani leaders could not set an example like Indian Prime Minister Modi.

Modi defeated Pakistani leaders

Another famous Pakistani journalist Kamran Yusuf said that Indian Prime Minister Modi has defeated Pakistani leaders in this matter. He said that our leaders should be ashamed and should take a lesson from PM Modi. Kamran also praised former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. According to revelations, Pakistani leaders took away sarees and fruits received as gifts from abroad to their homes. After this revelation, he is being criticized fiercely.
