Vineet Agarwal, head of the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS), said the PFI plans to turn people into an Islamic country by 2047 by inspiring people to commit hate crimes.

The Ministry of Home Affairs of Maharashtra, which exercises powers under Section 42 of the Prevention of Wrongful Activities Act, has issued an order empowering Police Commissioners and District Magistrates to exercise their powers against the now banned Popular Front of India (PFI). Other states, including Kerala and Tamil Nadu, have passed such orders declaring PFI as an illegitimate association. The Department of the Interior (MHA) had announced a five-year ban on PFI through a notice issued late Tuesday, declaring “PFI and its affiliates or affiliates or fronts as an illegitimate association with immediate effect.”
