The four-Test series between India and Australia is over and now it is the turn of the ODI series. The three-match ODI series between India and Australia is going to start from March 17. The first match of the series is to be played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Team India captain Rohit Sharma will not be able to play the first match due to attending his brother-in-law’s wedding and in such a situation Hardik Pandya will take charge of the team. Wasim Jaffer has shared the possible playing XI of the Indian team for the first ODI against Australia on Twitter. In the absence of Rohit Sharma, Jaffer has chosen Ishan Kishan along with Shubman Gill to open the innings. Virat Kohli is there to bat at number three, while Suryakumar Yadav at number four. Jaffer has picked KL Rahul at number five followed by all-rounders Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar.

As a specialist spinner, Jaffer has preferred Kuldeep Yadav over Yuzvendra Chahal, while as a fast bowler, Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj are part of this playing XI. Umran Malik, Shardul Thakur, Jaydev Unadkat, Yuzvendra Chahal, Akshar Patel have not got a place in Jaffer’s playing XI.
