The CBI has intensified the investigation in the Delhi Liquor Policy case. The central agency had called Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia to its office on Sunday for questioning. Sisodia, on the other hand, says that the CBI should defer questioning him in the excise policy matter till the last week of February as he is busy finalizing Delhi’s budget. Along with this, Sisodia said that he could have been arrested, that is why he has appealed to the CBI to postpone the inquiry. He also claimed that he feared that the BJP might order his arrest.
Along with this, Sisodia alleged that the BJP is using the investigating agency to take revenge on him. They are apprehensive that another summon may be issued soon. CBI will arrest him. Sisodia, who holds the charge of the Delhi government’s finance department, said he would be available for questioning after a week. I have written a letter to CBI. Have sought time till the last week of February as I am busy finalizing Delhi’s budget. This is an important time for the people of Delhi. I will reach for questioning after the last week of February.
Citing the Supreme Court’s order to issue notice for convening the first meeting of the corporation to fix the date for the MCD mayoral election, Sisodia said the BJP had to face the Supreme Court. So it is taking its revenge through CBI. I am sure she will do this by getting me arrested. I have always cooperated with the CBI. Ready to cooperate this time also, but I am asking for some time as I am busy finalizing Delhi’s budget.
Sisodia said that all the plans of the BJP have failed due to the decision of the Supreme Court on Friday. Now that I am busy finalizing the budget, the CBI is summoning me for questioning. They are stopping the work of Delhi. If they want to take revenge, then take it from me, why are they taking revenge from the people of Delhi. If I go (to the CBI) now, the budget will be affected, the people of Delhi will be affected. I just want time to meet the budget. As the Finance Minister, it is my duty to present the budget on time. I am working day and night for that. I have answers to all the questions of CBI.
