Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav is trying his best to corner the BJP government from UP to the Centre. After the victory of Dimple Yadav in the Mainpuri by-election, Shivpal was given a big responsibility by being made the General Secretary. Now once again Akhilesh is preparing to give promotion to uncle Shivpal. In fact, senior party leader Shivpal Singh Yadav can be seen sitting in the front row in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly. This is going to be another promotion for Shivpal as till now he was seen sitting on the back seat.

Now, because of sitting in the front line, Shivpal Yadav will have a big responsibility to surround the Yogi government on various issues and raise the voice of the people. The session of the UP Legislative Assembly is starting from 20 February. SP’s Chief Whip Manoj Kumar Pandey has written a letter to Vidhansabha Speaker Satish Mahana for change in the seating arrangement. “Now Shivpalji will sit in the first row on the seat of party MLA Awadhesh Prasad, Prasad will sit next to Akhilesh Yadav,” Pandey said.

Who got Azam’s seat?
Till now the seat next to Leader of Opposition Akhilesh Yadav was fixed for Azam Khan. Now SP MLA Prasad from Milkipur seat of Ayodhya will sit there. MLA Shivpal from Jaswant Nagar seat of Etawah district was seen sitting on the back seat till now. A senior official of the state assembly said, “We have received the letter. Arrangements will be made accordingly.” The “uncle-nephew” (Shivpal Akhilesh) relationship has improved after many ups and downs since 2017 and after the demise of SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav in October last year. The two have been seen together since. For this reason, Dimple Yadav won the by-election for Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat by a record margin. The latest move is a result of the new found friendship between the two leaders. In the changed scenario, the relationship between Shivpal Yadav and cousin Ramgopal Yadav has also improved.

Special plan prepared for 2024 Lok Sabha elections
Akhilesh Yadav has made complete preparations to surround the BJP from Vidhan Sabha to Lok Sabha. The SP chief has appeared with Swami Prasad Maurya in the Ramcharitmanas controversy, which has made it clear that he is eyeing the Dalit and backward vote bank. In view of this, the party has now started demanding caste census and is preparing to raise this issue from the road to the house. SP chief and Leader of Opposition in the House Akhilesh Yadav himself will raise this issue during the assembly session starting from Monday. It is notable that the Grand Alliance government of Bihar is also getting caste census done. Political experts believe that it can also benefit from this. Following the same path, Akhilesh has also raised the demand for getting caste census done loudly. Apart from this, from February 24, the SP is also going to run a campaign to strengthen the party at the block level. Through this, State President of Samajwadi Backward Classes Cell, Rajpal Kashyap will go to different districts and make people aware on caste census. This campaign will be run in many districts of the state. It is clear from this plan of Akhilesh Yadav that his eyes are on the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and he is going to do politics of backward and Dalits along with Muslims.
