Former India fast bowler Venkatesh Prasad has slammed the BCCI and the national selectors, saying Sarfaraz Khan’s neglect for the upcoming Test series against Australia is unfair and an insult to domestic cricket. The 25-year-old Sarfaraz, who plays domestic cricket for Mumbai, is scoring runs consistently in domestic cricket. He scored another century on Tuesday in the Ranji Group B match against Delhi. This is his third century in this season. Prasad tweeted, “It is not only unfair to Sarfaraz Khan to not pick him in the Test team despite his brilliant performances in three consecutive domestic seasons, it is also an insult to domestic cricket as if the platform doesn’t matter.”

The former India bowling coach also said that there are many cricketers in the Indian team who weigh more than Sarfaraz. He said, “And he is fit to score runs. As far as body weight is concerned, there are many who weigh more than that. Sarfaraz scored 136 in 12 matches in the last two Ranji seasons. Has scored 1910 runs at an average of 42.
