Manjrekar on Kohli | Virat Kohli’s power game returns: Sanjay Manjrekar | Navabharat

New Delhi: Former India Test cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar believes Virat Kohli’s ‘power game’ is slowly returning and he is getting into familiar rhythm for the T20 World Cup. Kohli took a month-long break after battling poor form for nearly three years. He returned to form in the Asian Cup and scored the most points for India. After this, he also did well in the T20 series against Australia.
Manjrekar said on Sports18’s ‘Sports Over the Top’ show: “He has scored points from every match of the Asian Cup and has not only scored points but improved in performance. I think power game has returned. His confidence in his power play returns.” He said: “There was a time when his points were scored, but the power game did not return. Now he returns.”

He said he hits good fours and sixes, which is a good sign. Manjrekar said: “He hits fours and sixs from good deliveries and that comes with confidence. This is someone who has a lot of confidence and that has made him excel, but for a long time he didn’t get any runs that shook his confidence. Fast bowlers Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Harshal Patel proved to be very expensive against Australia Manjrekar believes Bhuvneshwar had an extra burden.
“Bhuvneshwar Kumar is overloaded and plays a lot of cricket. He played all the matches and also in this series. He needs a break after which he plays fresh.” Harshal Patel has his limits. India should try more options for the third option for fast bowling. Mohammed Shami is also an option.” (desk)
