IPL 2023: Players market is decorated on this day, most Australians at auction


New Delhi: A total of 991 cricketers, including 714 Indians, have registered for the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) player auction to be held in Kochi on December 23. Aside from India, players from 14 other countries are included in this list. Australia’s highest number of 57 cricketers in the list of foreign players will be included in this auction.

There will only be 25 players on a team

In a press release from the Cricket Board of India (BCCI), secretary Jai Shah said, “If each franchise has a maximum of 25 players in their squad, the bid will be for a total of 87 players in this auction.” It can hold 30 foreign players. The player list consists of 185 capped (who have represented the national team), 786 uncapped and 20 players from associated countries. There are 604 uncapped Indian players in this list, 91 of which have been part of IPL before.
