Many big apps and games got banned in India. Apps and games, especially those made by Chinese developers, started getting banned from 2020, when the Indian government banned many popular apps and games including PUBG Mobile, TikTok, UC Browser, raising concerns over users’ privacy. After this, the biggest shock to gamers and common users was recently, when South Korean game company KRAFTON’s Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) and the most popular media player VLC were also banned and Android’s Google Play Store and Apple has been removed from the App Store. These were also deemed “dangerous to the sovereignty and integrity of India as well as to the security of the State and public order of India”.

More than 250 games and apps have been banned since 2020, but let us tell you that many of these apps and games are still working in India. Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI)

PUBG Mobile was banned in 2020, but even after being banned, this game could be played for a long time. Same is the case with BGMI as well. The game has currently been removed from Google Play and the App Store. Till now no clarity has been received from BGMI regarding the ban. Although this game cannot be downloaded from the store, but people who have this game already installed on their mobile phones, they can play it as before without any problem. Mobile Legends: Bang Bang

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is another game that was banned along with PUBG Mobile in 2020, but despite that the game is quite popular among the Indian gaming community. The game can still be played in India (if it is pre-installed on the phone), but it is no longer available on Google Play or the App Store. The game is known as ML, which is a 5v5 mobile MOBA. The desktop version of the app could not be downloaded, but the mobile version was available for download on Google Play Store till the time of writing this news. Also, if you already have it installed, it will continue to work without any issues.

UC Browser

Like VLC, UCBrowser is also banned in India. Before being banned, it was in the list of most popular browsers in the country. Its most special feature was its Ad-blocker feature. This browser was banned in 2020, but it is also available in third-party websites and app stores. The pre-installed browser on the mobile phone is working flawlessly.

AliExpress

AliExpress is an e-commerce platform from China that delivers products globally. The app was banned in November 2020. Currently the app is not available on Google Play Store and Apple App Store, but in the form of APK it is available on many websites and app stores. Its official website can also be accessed over multiple broadband and mobile networks.
