MacBook Air launched in new avatar, old variants get cheaper

Announcing its back-to-school season on Tuesday, Apple also said the company has launched new avatars for MacBook Air and MacBook Pro laptops. The MacBook Air has received True Tone Retina Display as an upgrade, and the company has also lowered its starting price. The 13-inch MacBook Pro, on the other hand, has been updated with a new 8th generation quad-core processor, Touch Bar, Touch ID, True Tone Retina Display and Apple T2 security chip in the entry-level model. Apple has also provided information on the new price of MacBook Air and MacBook Pro laptops in India.

MacBook Air, MacBook Pro price in India

The 2019 MacBook Air price in India now starts at Rs 99,900 while the student price is Rs 92,074. It was launched with a price tag of Rs 1.14,900. For your information, let us tell you that the new MacBook Air will be available from Apple’s Authorized Reseller starting July 25th. The laptop costs $1,099 in the US and $999 for students.

As a reminder, the 2018 MacBook Air model was launched in India in October with a price tag of Rs 1,14,900. 1.14.900. MacBook Air is powered by a 1.6GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 (8th generation) processor and 8GB of RAM. The base model has 128 GB of storage. The price of the 2019 13-inch MacBook Pro model now starts at Rs 1,19,900 in India while the student price will be Rs 1,11,264. It will be for sale again from 25 July.

The base variant of the 13-inch MacBook Pro model has a 1.4 GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 (8th generation) processor with 128 GB SSD storage and 8 GB RAM. Laptops are now equipped with Touch Bar, Touch ID, True Tone Retina Display and Apple T2 security chip. Apple said both the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro are part of the company’s Back to School campaign. This promotion applies to students, their parents, teachers, staff and home school teachers. Aside from the education discounts mentioned above, the promotion also includes the Beats Studio 3 wireless headphones.

Apple has officially discontinued the non-Retina MacBook Air, which had an MRP of Rs 84,900 but used to sell for Rs 60,000. This means that the starting price of MacBook Air will now be Rs 99,000.
