The historic Sri Shiva Vishnu Temple at Carrum Downs in Victoria was vandalized on Monday, The Australia Today website reported.

‘Khalistan supporters’ have allegedly damaged a Hindu temple in Australia by writing anti-India words on it. This information has been received from the news published in the media on Tuesday. This is the second incident of damage to a Hindu temple in Australia’s Victoria province within a week. The historic Sri Shiva Vishnu Temple at Carrum Downs in Victoria was vandalized on Monday, The Australia Today website reported. The vandalism to the temple came to light when devotees visited the temple for ‘Thai Pongal’, a three-day long festival of the Tamil Hindu community.

“We are a Tamil minority group in Australia, most of us came here to avoid being targeted on religious grounds,” said Usha Senthilnathan, who has been worshiping at the Sri Shiva Vishnu temple for years. It is my place of worship and it is not acceptable to me that these Khalistan supporters harm it with their hate messages without any fear.

She said, “I urge Premier Dan Andrews and Victoria Police to take strong action against these hooligans who are trying to intimidate the Hindu community of Victoria.” Earlier on January 12, at the Swaminarayan Temple in Melbourne Anti-social elements had distorted it by writing anti-India things.
