He said the government is committed to speedy clearance of projects and is planning to set up new satellite cities. Satellite cities are small suburbs established on the fringes of larger cities.

Unveiling the Tamil Nadu Real Estate Vision 2030 at Fairpro 2023, a real estate exhibition being organized under the aegis of the Confederation of Real Estate Developers Association of India (CREDAI) in Chennai, the Chief Minister said, “I feel that Chennai will have a growing population and new There will be huge opportunities in the real estate sector due to the coming of industries, and the increasing demand for housing and offices for companies.”

He urged CREDAI to take the prime responsibility of building and providing houses and commercial spaces. Addressing the gathering at the Chennai Trade Centre, Stalin said, “The urban population in Tamil Nadu, which was 1.90 crore in 1991, increased to 3.49 crore in 2011. It is expected to increase to 5.34 crore in 2031. As per the 2011 census, there are 832 cities and towns in the state. About 49 percent of the population lives in urban areas. Tamil Nadu is the leading state in the country in urbanisation. He said that the government has set up a single window system for granting building approvals.
