Security forces are said to have declared a ‘high alert’ after two explosions took place in the city in the space of several hours. The bus in which the second explosion took place was from Basantgarh in Udhampur district and had stopped at the bus stop overnight. It was to leave for Basantgarh in the morning.

The great thing is that these incidents happened a few days before the visit of the Interior Minister Amit Shah from 4 October. Udhampur-Reasi (Range) Inspector General of Police Suleman Choudhary said two to three buses were damaged in the blast. “The nature of the explosives and other matters are being investigated,” he said.
