Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) sub-inspector Insar Ali was injured in an IED blast during an anti-Naxal operation in the forests of Jharkhand’s West Singhbhum district on Wednesday in Anjadbeda village under Mufassil police station. He said that once again the sub-inspector, who was injured in an explosive device (IED) blast by Naxalites, was immediately airlifted to Ranchi for better treatment, where his condition was stated to be stable.
The Superintendent of Police, West District, said that it is suspected that Naxalites have planted IEDs at various places in the forests of Tonto, Mufassil and Goilkera police stations. Giving information about the incident, a police spokesman said that within the last 15 days, Insar Ali is the 11th security personnel who got injured after coming under the grip of ‘Improvised Explosive Device’ (IED) planted by Naxalites. A search operation was being conducted by the security forces on Wednesday, when an ID exploded in the forest near Anjadbeda village, injuring Insar Ali.
The spokesperson said that the injured Insar has been airlifted to Ranchi for better treatment. The condition of the jawan remains stable. Giving information in this regard, Chaibasa Superintendent of Police Ashutosh Shekhar said that information has been received about the presence of a large number of CPI (Maoist) Naxalites in Kolhan area and an attempt to carry out some major incident.
Shekhar said that on this information, a joint team of Chaibasa Police, 209th and 203rd battalions of CoBRA, Jharkhand Jaguar and 60th, 174th and 197th battalions of CRPF is conducting a search operation in the forests. Meanwhile, on Wednesday at around eight o’clock in the morning, an IED was exploded by the Naxalites with the aim of targeting the security forces between Jojohatu to Anjadbeda village under Mufassil police station, which injured Sub-Inspector (SI) of CRPF 197 Battalion, Insar Ali. Gone. He said that in the search operation, another live pipe bomb was recovered in the same area, which was destroyed by the security forces and bomb disposal squad.
