Gujarat: Woman dies due to flu, waiting for report amidst apprehension of ‘H3N2’

The deceased woman was a resident of Fatehganj area of Vadodara. So far three cases of ‘H3N2’ subtype of ‘influenza A’ have been confirmed in Gujarat. The samples have been sent for examination and a review committee will confirm the exact cause of death of the woman.
Vadodara. A 58-year-old woman died due to flu-like symptoms at a government hospital in Gujarat’s Vadodara city. An official gave this information on Tuesday. Asked whether the cause of the woman’s death was ‘H3N2’ virus, the official said the samples have been sent for examination and a review committee will confirm the exact cause of the woman’s death.
According to SSG Hospital’s Resident Medical Officer (RMO) DK Helaya, the woman was shifted from a private hospital to Sir Sayajirao General (SSG) Hospital on March 11, following which she died on March 13. RMO DK Helaya told reporters, “We have collected all the samples of the woman and sent them for testing.
