In this case, the accused is alleged to have cheated several companies in the name of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and his PA. The accused has cheated different companies to the tune of three crore rupees.

According to information, a 28-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly duping a chain of shops selling electronics goods in Mumbai of Rs 12 lakh. An official gave this information. The official said the accused, Nagaraju Budumuru, was recently taken into custody from Srikakulam district in the southern state, about two months after the complaint was lodged in the metropolis. Budumuru has duped about Rs 3 crore from about 60 companies in this manner. The official said that they have recovered Rs 7.6 lakh from his bank accounts.

In December last year, an employee of the electronics vendor’s managing director’s office received a call from a person claiming to be the personal assistant to the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, said an official of the anti-cybercrime unit. The official said that the caller said that the Chief Minister wanted to speak to the Managing Director. The official said that the said employee shared the mobile number of his Managing Director.

Thereafter, the accused, allegedly claiming to be the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, approached the managing director and demanded Rs 12 lakh from a chain of shops selling electronics goods for sponsoring a cricketer’s kit, the official said. The official said that the accused also sent fake documents and an email ID in the name of Andhra Cricket Association, claiming it to be of the cricketer and received the amount.
