Andhra Pradesh CID has written to various law enforcement agencies in neighboring states to investigate the alleged irregularities by Margdarshi Chit Fund Pvt Ltd in their respective jurisdictions. An official provided this information on Wednesday. The CID (Criminal Investigation Department) has written to the Directors General of Police (DGPs), Additional Directors General of Police (ADGPs), CB CID and Stamp and Registration Commissioners of Telangana, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
It has also alerted the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), Enforcement Directorate and Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO). CID ADGP N. Sanjay said in a statement, “In the interest of chit fund customers in Andhra Pradesh and other states, the preliminary findings of the investigation were communicated. They were requested to examine the aspects falling under their respective jurisdiction for necessary action.” He said that the financial irregularities identified would not only have to be dealt with by the police but also by other special branches. Meanwhile, a top official of Margadarshi told PTI, “Not a single complaint has been registered against the company in 60 years.
