Young people dance a lot to the songs of Yo Yo Honey Singh. After many years, he now has a new song, which has accumulated about 19 billion views in one day. It shows that his fans are still waiting for his songs
Music composer Yo Yo Honey Singh has left his mark all over the world with his songs. Be it his song ‘Lungi Dance’ from the movie ‘Chennai Express’ or the recent release, ‘Loka…’ which has racked up 19 billion views in one day.
Honey Singh says, “I made a reggaeton beat to sing Loca and then made an instrumental that was Spanish. Later I discussed this with my team and decided to use the word ‘loka’ (meaning crazy). We wrote it , rapped it and made a great song out of it. The special thing is that a girl sings this to herself that I am loka (crazy) to you. The term is also popular among the Indian public.
However, the musician does not feel that he cannot sing in any other genre due to the number of party songs he has sung so far. The 36-year-old musician says: “It’s not like people only remember my party song. I’ve also sung songs like ‘Brown Rang…’ and ‘Blue Eyes…’ which were romantic songs. ‘Desi Kalakar…’ was not the lot number. My biggest hit ‘Dheere Dheere…’ was a romantic song. I don’t think I have to commit to any particular image. I make all kinds of music and people love it.
Over the years, it has become apparent that the singer-composer-rapper has changed a lot. Although in his early days he was labeled ‘Wild Rock Star’ due to many controversies. He has the feeling that he has always been very calm. He said, ‘I don’t think anything has changed in me. I used to be calm. I just get wild on stage and in front of the camera. But those who know me personally know that I am a calm and relaxed person. My songs are wild, people go wild and I have to act wild. That doesn’t mean I’m a wild man. The artist in me has always been naughty and wild and always will be. I don’t think I’ve changed. I used to be like that too.
