Oil producers demand declaration of Rajasthan as mustard state

Indian Mustard Oil Producers’ Association (MOPA) president Babu Lal Data told reporters here that the industry body under the aegis of Central Organization of Oil Industry and Trade (COOIT) is organizing a seminar here to discuss various issues of edible oil .

Oil producers have demanded that Rajasthan be declared a mustard state as it accounts for 40-45 per cent of the country’s oilseed production. An industry official said on Saturday that a request has been made to the Rajasthan government in this regard. Indian Mustard Oil Producers’ Association (MOPA) President Babu Lal Data told reporters here that the industry body under the aegis of Central Organization of Oil Industry and Trade (COOIT) is organizing a seminar here to discuss various issues of edible oil .

Data said that we are repeatedly urging the government to declare Rajasthan as a mustard state. Rajasthan contributes about 40-45 percent of the country’s mustard production. It is such a crop, which requires minimum water for growth. The 43rd edition of the two-day All India Rabi Oilseeds Seminar began in Jaipur on Saturday.
