Washington. Microsoft reported on Tuesday that its profit declined by 12 percent during the quarter ending December 2022. Significantly, the company has laid off 10,000 employees citing economic uncertainty. The company reported quarterly profit of $16.43 billion, or $2.20 per share. Microsoft reported that its revenue for the October-December period was $52.75 billion, up two percent year-on-year.

Microsoft said last week that it has decided to cut about five percent of its global workforce due to macroeconomic uncertainties and changing customer preferences. The company’s personal computing business is projected to continue to decline.
