DMRC to soon introduce country’s first virtual shopping, recharge app for Metro

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation will launch virtual shopping app ‘Momentum 2.0’. With the help of this app, commuters will not only be able to recharge the Delhi Metro Smart Card but will also be able to avail the facility of smart payment for other services.
New Delhi. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) will soon launch an app through which commuters will be able to buy products and book services, including connectivity to key locations. India’s first virtual shopping app ‘Momentum 2.0’ for Metro will also have the facility of instant recharge of Delhi Metro Smart Card and smart payment for other services, officials said on Sunday.
“With the help of the app, Metro commuters will be able to buy multiple products and book multiple services while traveling in Metro and their order will be fulfilled at their destination station,” DMRC said in a statement. PTI reported in February 2022 that “Delhi Metro has launched a visionary project under which its regular services will be linked to e-commerce through a state-of-the-art digital platform. A top company has been tied up to implement this plan. An official said that the users of this app will also be able to keep digital lockers at the metro station.
