Aadhar card has become 10 years old? UIDAI is giving a chance to update for free

UIDAI has shared an important information related to Aadhaar card through its tweet. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has given the facility to update Aadhaar till June 14, 2023 without any charges.

Today, for any small or big work, Aadhaar card is required. Aadhaar is not only an essential document of our identity, but without it it is difficult to do any financial work. Looking at its usefulness, its updating becomes mandatory in itself. UIDAI has shared an important information related to Aadhaar card through its tweet. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has given the facility to update Aadhaar till June 14, 2023 without any charges.
As per the Aadhaar Enrollment and Update Regulation, 2016, residents can update their supporting documents in Aadhaar at least once on completion of every 10 years from the date of enrollment for Aadhaar by submitting Proof of Identity (POI). UIDAI has told in its tweet that now card holders will not have to pay any fee for updating Aadhaar documents. This free service will continue from 15 March to 14 June 2023. Cardholders are also being constantly alerted by the authority. Now in order to speed up this work, the services have been made free.
How to update?
You can update your Aadhaar card in two ways.
Visiting Permanent Enrollment Centre: Visit uidai.gov.in website and find the nearest Enrollment Center by clicking on “Locate Enrollment Center” there.
One way to update the Aadhaar card is through the Aadhaar Portal. Till now the Aadhaar card holder had to pay a fee of Rs 25 online and Rs 50 offline for any kind of update in his card. That is, if you used to update the document by going to the Aadhaar Center, then Rs 50 was charged. On the other hand, if this work was done through the Aadhaar portal, then a fee of Rs 25 had to be paid. It has now been made free for three months.
Another way is through the Self Service Update Portal (SSUP). By using the Self Service Update Portal Online: Click on “Update Aadhaar Details (Online)” at uidai.gov.in.

1. Go to uidai.gov.in
2. Go to the ‘My Aadhaar’ tab and click on ‘Update Demographics Data and Check status’.
3. After this you will be redirected to another website. There you have to click on https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in.
4. Enter your Aadhaar number and captcha code and click on ‘Send OTP’. A One Time Password (OTP) will be sent to your registered mobile number.
5. After logging in, select ‘Update Aadhaar Online’. After doing this you will get many instructions. Read them thoroughly and click on ‘Proceed to update Aadhaar’.
6. Select the data field you want to update. Keep in mind that you will have to upload the proof of new address to be updated in Aadhaar card. Click on ‘Proceed to update Aadhaar’.
7. Submit the request after entering the correct information.
8. After this you will be redirected to the payment portal. There you have to pay Rs 50 for updating the address.
While updating the Aadhaar card, it is important that the information given on the Aadhaar card should be completely correct. Any mistake in this can become a problem for you. To update offline, you have to visit your nearest Aadhaar center. According to UIDAI, you can easily get the update done by providing demographic details (name, address, date of birth, gender, mobile and email).
